Smartboard

The classroom I was in had a smartboard, I really enjoyed it because it gave us and interactive way to learn, and it made presentations alot easier because in stead of controlling the computer with a projector and hiding in the back of the room we could stand at the front, where every one could see us. Today we used senteo's to take test and it was alot easier and funner than regular tests because the questions and multiple choice answers were on the board and we hit the button matching the answer. Playing interactive learning games is also really fun because it helps us to learn

CRAIG WATER

Hi, my name is Craig Water, but the society calls me “Puddle.” The society is a group of people with unexplained abilities. I entered the society when I was in Kindergarten. I don’t remember much but my teacher says there was a big thunderstorm and I was scared to death, I was sitting in the corner crying and when my teacher when to help me up and take me to the office. But, she noticed I was sitting in a puddle, she asked my why I was wet and when I opened my mouth to talk water came shooting out of my mouth and ever since then I was able to absorb rain water and use it for my well being. THE END.

Amazing Christmas!

Amazing Christmas

This Christmas was just like all of the others, Amazing! Christmas is one of my favorite holidays. We always laugh and have lots of fun, me and my cousins play laser tag and Xbox 360. I got a lot of gifts this year, books, videogames, robots and remote control helicopters. Although everything I got was great, my favorites were the helicopters and Wii Fit. I used them for hours when I first opened them. My favorite part of the holidays was the last three days. Brett and I went to camp Saskadet. At Saskadet we built rockets, played football, built snow forts, and slept in barracks. During the three days, bananas were out on the table for people to take and I love bananas so I ate 14! Saskadet is definitely something I will be doing next year. I can’t wait until next Christmas, its going to be my 13th and 13 is my lucky number!

Barbara: Paper Box Regina

Dec.1 Barbara: Paper Box Regina

Earlier in November Mrs. Perrey’s class along with many others worked with Barbara on her latest project, an abstract model of Regina using origami boxes with saying about Regina printed on them. When we went to the MacKenzie Art Gallery we saw the finished piece. It was awesome! Although it was great I was expecting the whole model to be made of the boxes. Only about eighty percent was, while the rest was made from cardboard. I give the model a 4/5 By: Tanner Stengler

Bob Boyer: His Life's Work

Dec.1 Bob Boyer: His Life’s Work

Today Mrs. Perrey’s class and Mr. Parisien’s class attended a tour of Bob Boyer’s life work at the MacKenzie Art Gallery. Robert James (Bob) Boyer painted sixty paintings from 1968-2004, when he unfortunately died while dancing at a Pow-Wow. He was born in 1948 in Prince Albert, SK. Bob graduated from the Regina Campus of the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Education (art) Degree.

At the start of his career, Bob painted landscapes and later moved into Aboriginal Abstract. One of the main symbols of Bob’s work is the abstract horse; a diamond with two E’s, one at the top and one at the bottom. He also used lots of geometric shapes and figures. Out of the sixty paintings in the gallery my favorite was Trains-N-Boats-N-Plains: The Nina, the Santa Maria and a Pinto, painted in 1991. It’s about the Europeans coming to North America and killing the First Nations with the disease, Smallpox.

During the tour we looked at most of the paintings and at the end we got to make our own abstract art. Bob Boyer is an amazing artist! I give his paintings and the tour a 5/5! If you ever get the chance to see his work, GO! By: Tanner Stengler

Regina Youth Ballet

Regina Youth Ballet
Nov. 19 2008

Regina Youth Ballet preformed for St. Gregory and other Regina Catholic schools this morning. It was a very good performance, it lasted an hour and in that time we saw dances, they were all exceptionally great but the few I found stood out were the ones danced to Queen. Classical dance and rock music, the perfect combination! Although the dances were mostly classic there were many out of the ordinary dance moves, some most people wouldn’t even think of. Some of the dances were plane and boring but some were amazing!
